I have 2 production servers running Vmin Pro on centos5 and they are awesome!

For my personal use, I want to install a GPL version on a small VPS running centos 4.5. as I understand, the install script will not work on centos4.5 so I am going to try the manual install.

so, my question is: I think I can set-up most of the required packages, but I doubt I can make postfix work as intended. does anybody have some tips to share with me?

I plan to do the regular yum install postfix, but I don't know what else to do to make it get along with Vmin GPL. (Maildir settings, sslauth, virtual domains, etc.)

any pointers?

on a VPS the most important thing is RAM. If it's not enough the installation will partially fail and will take some time to install the missing parts manually.
I installed GPL on a VPS with 64mb ram and that was a tough cookie to do (upgraded to 128mb though).
Anyways in the end postfix and BIND are running.
Just install as you would normally do.

CentOS 4 has been supported by the GPL installer for quite some time. Point me to where I failed to mention that and I'll fix it.

As ronald mentioned...memory is a concern. The other tricky bit might be network interface names. You may have to configure them explicitly rather than letting Virtualmin pick them up. It'll warn you about it during the Configuration Check once you're logged in.

The VPS I contracted has 256mb of RAM, and it will probably only host 4-5 small/low traffic sites. So I hope thta's enough, if not I will upgrade to 384.
