doe ${DOM} work in the /etc/skel/public_html directory? 2006/01/14 10:07
I want to put an initial index.html page in the skel directory in the public_html directory so if somone hits on the site it atleast says the domain name. I've tried putting in the title tag ${DOM} COMING SOON but when viewing the page it says exactly that ${DOM} coming soon. IM guessing either these tags dont work in the skel directory, or there is another tag that Im supposed to be using.

If you can't then make this a wish list that virtualmin creates an index.html page initially so it's not just a directory listing showing the stats directory etc.

Hey Adam,

The index.html page isn't a template, so it doesn't get any replacement tags, but it's a good idea to make that kind of functionality available. I'll file a wish in the tracker, and see if Jamie comes up with some easy/clean way to implement something like this. There's a few options right now...you could enable SSI for that page, or you could direct to a CGI or php script instead of straight HTML. In either case you could pull the domain name from the request.
