I've almost got everything up and running after our server failure/reinstall. However, after reinstalling all the virtual domains, the owners can log in, but their domains don't appear.

I noted that none of them have webmin logins if I go to "Webmin Users", should they?

Anyone have ideas on where I should start troubleshooting?

Do they have more than 100 domains? If so, that's expected behavior...the search box replaces the domain list when it is thought (by Jamie) to be too long to be useful.

You can adjust that value in the Module Configuration in the User Interface Settings section.

Yes. They definitely should. And they shouldn't even see what's in your screenshot if they don't have a Webmin user. But, I think Webmin Users also displays a search box rather than a list when the number of users is high. So maybe you're just "Search box" blind, in all cases. (It's understandable...this is actually a FAQ that doesn't have an entry in the FAQ yet. I haven't really figured out how to deal with it better...though the new theme pretends like ridiculously long lists are okey dokey, that's probably a bug.) ;-)

there are sooo many settings one can adjust in this software. What I did was reading the documentation like 3x and that made a lot clear to me. Also I used the vm pro install.sh script and got everything working out of the box. I was left with finetuning but not the issues you encounter.

giving users access to webmin is a setting in the server template once the feature is also enabled.

I'm curious to why you choose centos 4 instead of centos 5.

This is definitely something that occured during the restore from backup. They were working fine before that.

I wasn't able to determine the root cause, but I was able to fix it by deleting and restoring the webmin account, using the following procedure:

1. Log into virtualmin as root
2. Switch to the parent domain for webmin user who can't log in
3. Edit Virtual Server
4. Under Enabled Features, uncheck Webmin Login
5. Save changes
6. Return, recheck, save again

• Put a "list all" link underneath the search box that just shows all the domains for that user in 2-4 columns on the right.


• Put a "recently viewed" list on the login success page for ones the user frequents regularly

[li]In the dropdown, show the recently viewed list, then, instead of having all the domains, have categories (a-c, d-f, g-m, n-r, s, t-z) as choices in the list. When a category is clicked, list the entries for that range to right.

I can't remember, but I'm fairly sure the hosting provider didn't offer a choice on versions.
