but I can't send/receive in outlook and evolution says 'host lookup failed. mail.ekmb.net: Name or service not known
Aha!
I think the host lookup failed message is the key here -- it would seem that address doesn't have DNS setup for it.
So, ekmb.net resolves to the IP address 71.43.226.6. But, mail.ekmb.net doesn't have an IP address associated with it.
Assuming mail.ekmb.net should also go to 71.43.226.6, you may just need to go into Services -> DNS Domain, "Name Alias", and make mail.ekmb.net an alias for ekmb.net.
When you're in "Name Alias", where it says "Name", you'd add "mail", and where it says "Real Name", you'd add "ekmb.net." (notice the trailing . ).
After you add those in, save it, then hit "Apply Changes" at the previous screen, and you should be all set! -Eric

Jul 19 02:34:43 host postfix/local[13527]: C464616A2B5: to=<eboughey.ekmb@host.ekmb.net>, orig_to=<eboughey@ekmb.net>, relay=local, delay=5, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail-wrapper -o -a $DOMAIN -d $LOGNAME)
This looks like a successful message delivery--at least it made it into procmail.
What's in /var/log/procmail.log when you send a message that results in this kind of message in maillog but doesn't actually make it to your mailbox?

I believe she's using third party DNS service. (Virtualmin would have created the mail record for her, and the MX record, if it were locally hosted.)
So this change needs to be made at whatever third party handles DNS service. Adding MX records wouldn't hurt.

What a fun day. I started from scratch again and installed the most updated OS since I was having problems with the fschk on newer kernels of CentOS 4.6 so now I'm on 5.2 which is much more efficient.
I've got the mail server and DNS set up in Virtualmin (properly) and am using editdns for backup dns only since I only have 1 ip address.
The unfortunate part is that when I backed up my data and put it to cd, it didn't write properly so it won't open. dang, I knew I should have tried it on another computer! At least I have most of it on my 'Windows' machine. I probably have the other stuff somewhere too since I'm the type who is backup crazy.
Thanks so much for all of the help everyone gave me. My brain feels like it's mush after all the learning I had to do today and yesterday, but without all of you I would have never been able to accomplish anything :)
