PHP Pear Webmin module added to repositories for all platforms 2007/04/05 18:22
Hi all,

I've just rolled out a new (well, it's been quietly available for a while, but now its easy to get to and expected to work most of the time) module for management of PHP Pear modules. It's very similar in function to the CPAN Perl Modules module. It probably can also handle both version 4 and 5 of PHP (listing them, and installing them in the correct place), though that's not really well-tested yet.

To get it, you can use the Webmin System:Software Packages module (package name wbm-php-pear on RPM-based systems and webmin-php-pear on deb-based systems), or you can use the command line.

To install on Red Hat based systems:

yum install wbm-php-pear

On SUSE systems:

yast -i wbm-php-pear

On Mandriva systems:

urpmi.update -a
urpmi wbm-php-pear

And on Debian and Ubuntu systems:

apt-get update
apt-get install webmin-php-pear

To upgrade on systems installed using .wbm packages, download the module from:

http://software.virtualmin.com/wbm/php-pear-1.1.wbm.gz

Using your serial number as the username and your license key as the password. Then install it using the Webmin Modules module.

As always, let us know about any bugs you find by filing a bug in the bug tracker.
