Documentation updates and reseller documentation 2006/09/07 22:37
I've just uploaded new versions of all of the documentation, which includes some new topics, some clarifications based on things that we've found users have trouble with, and cleanups and error corrections. It is also updated to reflect accurately the Virtualmin Framed theme (rather than navigation tips based on the older Nuvola theme). I've also begun work on a Reseller Guide, which is targetted to your reseller customers--it is a little anemic at the moment, but it will grow quite a bit over the next few weeks as I figure out what folks need from the reseller guide. Hopefully, some of you will chime in with things that your reseller account-holders ask about most. All around the documentation is getting a lot of attention over the next few weeks, as we wrap up the Early Adopter period, so if there's something you think ought to be covered, bring it up in the forums.

As always, the documentation, including the new reseller guide, can be found in the[a href="http://www.virtualmin.com/support/documentation">Documentation section of the website.

What I would really like to see, much more than a Reseller Guide, is a Domain Owner Guide. Is this in the works too? This (and evenually, a Mail User Guide also) would be immensely useful to make available to our hosting clients and reduce questions to our staff.

Virtualmin (as with most hosting control panel software) is really all about empowering the domain owners to manage their own domains. Of course, the administrators and resellers need to know how to manage everything too, but often they can figure things out a lot easier on their own compared to the end users who are probably using this software for the first time. This is why I think the primary focus should be on the Domain Owners first and foremost.

Thanks,
Alan
