Hi,
for PHP4 also the GD module is required... therefore also php4-gd should be installed and in php.ini be active in line extension=gd.so
The same might also apply to the pdf modules.

(Joe - its similiar to the problem, when the msql link initially didn't work despite the module being installed. It was not activated in php.ini - you remember)
