File Manager settings

Coming from a cPanel environment, I find the Virtualmin File Manager dreadful.

Where can I find documentation to configure the File Manager? I want to set that files and dirs can be overwritten without confirmation. Currently I want to move upgrades of over 1000 files from dirA to dirB.

Firstly there is no drag and drop function and then when I do a C&P I am stuck with a 1000 popups swarming into view ..... this is NOT GOOD!

I have browsed through this site and the docs on the File Manager is minimal.

Please advise if there is an alternative File Manager that can be installed and can work with Virtualmin.

Don't tell anyone I said this, but I'm not particularly fond of the filemanager either :-)

If you don't need it to run as root, there's some alternative AJAX filemanager's out there... for example, the one that comes with Jooma is decent. There's a number of other options out there as well.

There has been some talk about revamping what's included with Virtualmin, but that unfortunately won't be fixed this week -- so in the meantime I'd suggest trying a different app for your file managing needs :-)

Thanks for the reply.

How can these alternatives be integrated into Virtualmin and offered to the webmasters of virtual servers?

I had a look at Gollem, but can find no method of making it an "option" of each virtual server's interface.
