Catchall Webmail

Hi,

I am on Virtualmin 3.79 GPL. Recently I have installed Squirrelmail for a virtualserver, and was not able to configure a catchall webmail for all domains. The issue was suexec. Squirrelmail requires user access to some folders, and I was unable to resolve this issue and hence went for a virtual server specific install.

But now, I am working on a catchall webmail for all domains. The reason behind this is ssl. However, I have run into the same "mountain". It seems that there is a link discussing the same issue:

http://www.virtualmin.com/node/10379

In my opinion the suexec issue was not addressed here, for all domains.

Here is what I plan, setup a subomain.domain.com and then install Squirrelmail in the public_html folder. Then, should I enable mod_php on this domain ? This will enable non domain users to access the Squirrelmail folders, but am not sure whether that means that mail users from other virtual domains will be able to access these folders. Anyway I am giving it a shot, and will report back on the results of my "experiment".

Of course, there is the redirect issue, but I have a handle on that, and hence have not mentioned it.

It seems that I am unable to make any headway, in my first attempt.

I have used this link to try and set up a url redirection :

http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/id,webmail_and_virtualmin/#insta...

This is what I did, I have a domain www.xyz.com, I created a virtual server webmail.xyz.com and put in on a private ip address. [192.168.x.x] [Not as a sub-domain but top level domain].

Then I submitted a Certificate request and got a certificate duly signed, by my CA. I installed the certificate.

Then I created a new test subdomain.xyz.com after changing the subdomain template from System Settings so that the webmail url is redirected to https://webmail.xyz.com. However, on typing webmail.subdomain.xyz.com I was not taken to https://webmail.xyz.com ?

Any ideas ?
