Cloudmin 4.8 released

Cloudmin version 4.8 is now available for download from our YUM and APT repositories. Existing users should see a message on the Cloudmin Information page after logging in, prompting to upgrade to the new release.

This update contains several major new features, including :

  • Added the list-system-history API command, for fetching statistics such as load average or free disk space.
  • Added an option to select the OpenVZ default configuration type on the creation form.
  • On the Add Network Interface page, added a button for selecting a free IP address from the list of those available.
  • Categorized alerts into binary and variable types, to make alerting on a down system easier to setup and understand.
  • Added the stat-file API command, for fetching information about a file on a managed system.
  • All API commands for uploading, downloading and transferring files can now operate on an entire directory as well. This also applies to the Transfer Files page within the Cloudmin UI.
  • Enhanced the option to check virtual disks at boot time to only check those that have been un-mounted uncleanly.
  • An image can be made the default for a virtualization type, on the Image Details page.
  • KVM instances can now have real interfaces that are connected to different bridges, if the host system has more than one.
  • Deletion of old date-based backups can now be enabled on the Create Backup page. This allows you to backup systems to a different directory each day, and delete backups older than some threshold.
  • The Status Change History section of the Edit System page now displays how each change was made, and by who.

As always, please report any problems you encounter using this new version via the support issue tracker.
