Is Virtualmin Pro required for domain migration using Cloudmin Pro?

Greetings,

I intend to use Cloudmin Pro in the near future to migrate domains between multiple hosts (physical machines connected to the internet, running Virtualmin). In order to do this, does a licensed Virtualmin Pro need to be installed on each of the machines involved in the process? Or does it suffice to use Virtualmin GPL? I have done searching for this particular question and can't seem to find it.

Many thanks.

Howdy,

Cloudmin can manage both Virtualmin Pro and/or GPL installations, that's no problem.

The only thing to watch out for is just that a domain may lose some features if you have it on a Virtualmin Pro installation, and you migrate it to Virtualmin GPL.

If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know!

Excellent, and yes, I do have another question:

Let's say I have custom-written a Virtualmin install script, which I use in both Virtualmin GPL and Virtualmin Pro environments for installing a webapp. If I use the script to install the webapp on the Pro host (or as part of a domain template, for installing the webapp on creation), and migrate to the GPL host, will it still work (it's assumed that the webapp install script is loaded on both hosts)?

Again, this is an install script manually written and installed. It is not in Virtualmin Pro repository, although it hopefully it will be soon ;-)

Thanks!

Yup, that should be no problem at all.

The API is the same with Virtualmin Pro and GPL, and any install script you create should be able to work on both (or, if for some reason it doesn't, let us know, as that may be a bug!)
