Cloudmin and AWS

I have the AWS account and have 2 servers at the moment. A linux Ubuntu with Virtualmin and a windows 2008 without control panel.

I will create more server instance for email and web use Route 53, RDS and Load Balance

I wish what would be the best option to manage all this in a single environment.

Working with developing and hosting applications. So I need a way to quickly configure domains and domains.

What would be the best solution? Cloudmin the full or cloudmin for physical servers?

Or is there any other better option?

Howdy,

Cloudmin for Physical Servers can provide you a single interface that ties together any number of Virtualmin installations, providing a central area for managing them all.

The full Cloudmin provides everything that Cloudmin for Physical Servers provides, as well as the ability to launch and manage EC2 instances from within Cloudmin.

You won't get much management control over your Windows XP system, since that's not running Linux or Virtualmin -- but you should at least end up with the ability to start and stop the EC2 instance if using the full Cloudmin.

You're of course welcome to try Cloudmin for 45 days, and if it doesn't do what you're after, you can ask for a refund.

Does that answer the questions you had?

Acquiring the license of Cloudmin I need to purchase a license for each virtualmin installed on each server instance created?

How does the organization Cloudmin? I have to have a main server where it is installed it will manage all other instance?

I install virtualmin in windows environment with IIS 7?

You only need a license for each Virtualmin Pro instance you would like to run.

You are welcome to run Virtualmin GPL on each EC2 instance if you like.

Yes, from the main Cloudmin instance, you can manage your various EC2 instances, as well as any Virtualmin instances running on them.

I install virtualmin in windows environment with IIS 7

Unfortunately, Virtualmin does not run on Windows. So you couldn't install Virtaulmin there.

Cloudmin can still start and stop the EC2 instance running Windows, but you wouldn't be able to run Virtaulmin on it.

So if I understand correctly. I need to purchase a license from the license Cloudmin and more of virtualminPro for each server you use. That?

In my case I have less than 10 servers. Cost of $ 149.00 cloudmin and more than $ 139.00 virtualmin. Totaling $ 288 annually.

This correct?

You don't need Virtualmin Pro on those servers, you could use Virtualmin GPL if you wanted (and technically, you don't need Virtualmin at all).

However, if you want to use Virtualmin Pro -- you would need to buy a Virtualmin Pro license for each server.

Remember that renewals cost much less than the initial purchase cost.

So while the initial Cloudmin license for a Cloudmin 10 is $149, the renewal cost is only $48 a year.

That's similar with Virtualmin -- a Virtualmin 10 costs $139, and the renewal is $45.

And Virtualmin GPL is free :-)

I hope that helps! Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.

Howdy,

There is some documentation on the available Amazon EC2 instances here:
