Manually update BIND records

Hi all,

I am relatively new to virtualmin/webmin.

I have a server with Virtualmin 3.97.gpl GPL and Webmin 1.610.

I have the following configuration:

  • domain.com (top lever server) -- domain.mx (alias) -- domain.ca (alias)

  • dev.domain.com (top level server) -- dev.domain.mx (alias) -- dev.domain.ca (alias)

Basically my website detects the domain name requested and serves the content accordingly, hence the above setup. The "dev" subdomains are the development versions of the website.

I know this is not the optimal setup as I am having DNS issues: some of the dev subdomains are often not available from some locations.

I have been told the DNS issue can be fixed by manually editing the BIND records. I am not familiar with BIND records, and I have no idea what to look for. All I know is that it can be found in Webmin>Servers>BIND DNS Server.

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out.

Thank you

Francois
