Email config, setting up pop/smtp mail

i was reading the guide here and want to clarify few things:

http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/email/pop-and-imap

If i were to setup a mail client to recieve mail from my vertualmin vps, the pop/smtp url would be what? Say the mail is for clientdomain.com. and server fqdn is server1.mydomain.com (ns1/ns2.fqdn is the ns). Or is it that any fqdn that has an A record for the same ip the server1.mydomain.com would also do the trick? if not, how about a cname (mywebmail.clientdomain.com) that points to server1.mydomain.com?

When you enable the Mail for Domain feature, Virtualmin automatically adds an A and MX record to your zone. For "clientdomain.com", that's "mail.clientdomain.com". You can use that for pop3 and smtp.

In mail.log after start module: Sep 21 19:19:00 Debian-70-wheezy-64-LAMP postfix/postfix-script[12215]: warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/nsswitch.conf and /etc/nsswitch.conf differ Sep 21 19:19:00 Debian-70-wheezy-64-LAMP postfix/postfix-script[12221]: warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf and /etc/resolv.conf differ Sep 21 19:19:00 Debian-70-wheezy-64-LAMP postfix/postfix-script[12236]: starting the Postfix mail system Sep 21 19:19:00 Debian-70-wheezy-64-LAMP postfix/master[12237]: fatal: bind 0.0.0.0 port 25: Address already in use

solve this problem by killing sendmail port mappings

now i can connect through thunderbird and send and receive mails, but in fact connection is working, mail delivery - not. Any ideas? where to look?

Howdy,

Hmm, the errors in your logs above look like Postfix isn't starting... it sounds like you may have resolved that particular issue though.

Are you still getting that same error when trying to send an email now? Or are you seeing different errors in the logs when trying to send an email?
