mail to alias being sent to root user

Hi, new to Virtualmin, installed GPL on Centos 6.5 32-bit. I set up domains and users just fine. I added aliases for a few emails and emails to those addresses are getting delivered to root, not the aliased user.

I verified I have FQDN set and I do have reverse dns working. Here's the mail log for an entry. It shows it being delivered to root instead of the aliased user.

 Subject: test to email alias
  Folder: /root/Maildir/new/1401742333.1126_0.MYHOSTNAME          42143
Time:1401742333 From:ANOTHEREMAIL@gmail.com To:design@MYDOMAIN.com User:root Size:42196 Dest:/root/Maildir/new/1401742333.1126_0.MYHOSTNAME Mode:None

This does have the right alias in the To: above, but says user root.

The email is in the root user Ok. Any ideas on what I can try to debug this? thanks much

Figured it out, I had added email aliases like this: design -> support

instead the alias should be the login name

design -> support.domainowner

that worked.
