Scheduled backup fails, manual backup works

I have a recurring problem whereby a scheduled backup will fail (output shown below) but as soon as I get the email confirmation that the failure has occurred (i.e. within 1 minute) I can go and run the backup manually and it always runs successfully. Has anyone seen this behavior, or have any ideas what the cause of the SSH failure would be?

Backup failed! See the progress output above for the reason why. Total backup time was 00 minutes, 00 seconds.

Sorry, the first post didn't look like it saved (nothing happened) and I hit save multiple times.

Howdy,

Around the time that you're getting the "Connection Lost" error -- do you see any messages in the logfiles on the backup server that might explain why the connection is being lost? Some of the system logs may have some additional info about that.

Eric,

On CentOS 6, where would the appropriate log file be that would show that info?

I send my backups to another server every Sunday morning. Guess it's hit and miss because today all were successful.
