Virtualmin Pro Inquiry

Hello guys,

I'm looking into using Virtualmin as an alternative to cPanel/WHM for the software I'm developing. I need to depend on a panel that has an API and can manage virtualhosts and webmail. And because of this, I maybe needing premium support to get problems resolved quickly.

My question does the Pro license also limits aliases? If I have a 10-domain license, does it include limits on domain aliases?

Can Usermin have a separate theme of its own? I want to re-brand it for webmail login.

Thank you.

Howdy,

Thanks for your interest in Virtualmin!

Nope, there are no limits on aliases in Virtualmin Pro, they don't count towards the license.

And yes, Usermin can have it's own theme.

Note that we're preparing to launch a new theme for Virtualmin very soon, and following that we hope to begin working on some large improvements to Usermin and it's UI.

Also, you can use RoundCube and other webmail apps for email as well. There is a RoundCube Install Script inscluded with Virtualmin.

Feel free to let us know if you have additional questions!

I'm excited for your new theme, do you have beta/preview version of it?

Yes, I was planning on using Roundcube for webmail, I just thought users can create additional email addresses via Usermin. I guess not, they will be using Virtualmin instead.

Does support only cater to bugs and other software-related issues or can I send occasional how-to inquiries if I get lost? I think a premium support package will be nice in the future.

Your docs say that Nginx (as configured by Virtualmin) can't support wildcard SSLs, is is still the case as of today?

Many thanks!

Howdy,

The theme should be out fairly soon, though you can also go into Webmin and change the theme to "Authentic". That's an earlier release of it, from a few weeks ago.

As far as support goes -- we try to answer anything you might ask. We're best able to help with Virtualmin, and things it configures. However, if you have a general question not related to that, we'd try to answer it, or at least point you in the right direction.

And if you have a big project you'd like us to tackle that isn't related to Virtualmin, you could always use our Professional Services, where you could hire us on an hourly basis.

Regarding Nginx and SSL -- I'm unfortunately not sure about that one. I suspect that limitation would still exist, and we do recommend using Apache. However, if you're interested in Nginx, you could always talk to Jamie, who would know for sure. You could do that by asking in the "Support" area.
