Running processess (/usr/bin/php-cgi)

Hi,

I have a question regarding all the running processess. At the moment there are over 280 processes running, using over 720mb of ram memory.

There are about 150 of these, 6902 USER 30052 kB /usr/bin/php-cgi Some of these(and others) are 1-2 days old.

Our box runs 2xIntel P4 (2,8 Ghz) and 1Gb ram, Fedora Core 6 and Virtualmin Pro, all software are latest versions.

Should there be so many processes running all the time? Our old box with 1 Intel Celeron (2,8 Ghz) and 512Mb ram, Fedora Core 4 and Virtualmin pro usually did have about 90-120 processes running, and using about 250-300 Mb or ram. Both boxes did run the same amout of domains.

Regards, Leif.
