Best Practice

Hi

I have used my Virtualmin Pro system for nearly a year now and I would now like to make some changes.

My Config: Operating system Debian Linux 4.0 Webmin version 1.441
Virtualmin version 3.64 Pro

I have tried to move the url for the virtualmin interface to port 80 following the guides here but I keep breaking things and having to reinstall.

I want to get users to have access to their accounts and webmail from a single url.

I am willing to make drastic changes if needed such as changing the os if that is part of the solution.

if anyone is willing to help me I would appreciate it. I have minimal virtualmin experience as it is such a good software package.

Thanks again.

Changing OS is irrelevant to your request. Don't do drastic things just for the sake of doing drastic things. ;-)

So, what did you try, and what went wrong?

Rather than reinstalling, how about letting us know what goes wrong for you, and we'll help you fix it (and hopefully make the docs more clear for folks in the future). Attempting to setup proxying to Webmin, and failing, isn't an event worthy of a reinstall...in fact, very few problems should make you think "I need to reinstall". You're making your life a lot more difficult than it needs to be. ;-)

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the response.

I will try again today and then let you know how it goes.
