install VM 50 errors

I have anew, clean VPS, running Centos 5.3 and am having problem installing VM Pro.

Using the wget command, supplied from the serial page, I initially had an error saying that perl wasnt installed, so i installed it. I then re-ran wget and it looked like it went all of the way through, however, there was a fatal error and it apparently uninstalled itself (by not dependancies).

I have checked the logs and cant see anyting obvious, but have got:

How do i see what the problem is and resolve this!

I have not installed webmin, as yet - would this make things easier??

Hi Paul,

Aha, you're a Pro user, I didn't notice that originally... I deleted your message (as the install log contains the serial numbers and such) -- can you instead open up a bug report using the Bugs and Issues link below, and attach your install log to it?

However, one thing to check is that if you have third party RPM repositories setup, those are capable of causing problems. You might consider removing them while you try the installation.

I noticed that after I posted, but couldnt edit the post!

Bug report placed!

As for third party repo's, from a clean install + perl, I have added nothing but vm/wm<br><br>Post edited by: paul.kelly, at: 2009/04/05 08:06

some VPS templates have DAG repos in them by default. those break webmin.
I have one such VPS as well and after installing the OS I first get rid of the repos, search and destroy any traces of it, then do a yum update then install through install.sh

Ronald,

thanks for the suggestion.

Being somewhere below a noob, can you suggest how to reove the DAG bits?
