backup script bug (or VPS problem?)

trying to do backup of all domains to ftp via web browser with all options enabled to backup System Centos 6 64bit and get this:

Starting backup of 9 domains to /backup_domains on FTP server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ..

HTTP/1.0 500 Perl execution failed Server: MiniServ/1.680 Date: Sun, 25 May 2014 03:00:45 GMT Content-type: text/html; Charset=iso-8859-1 Connection: close Error - Perl execution failed Modification of a read-only value attempted at /usr/libexec/webmin/web-lib-funcs.pl line 2837, line 4.

Any ideas?

Looks like an FTP command is failing, and then there is a second error while trying to report the first error!

Can you try adding the line error_stack=1 to /etc/webmin/config , re-trying the backup, and post the new full error message here?

same output do i have to reload something after config change?

EDIT: well, rebooted the VPS, still same output

Ok, it looks like your FTP server is giving an unusual response to Virtualmin when it terminates the FTP session ... and due to a Virtualmin bug, this error isn't being captured properly.

What kind of FTP server are you backing up to?

Bulletproof FTP (Windows), tried so many versions.. same result It has nothing to do with Windows itself (before you start on firewall etc etc)..

Do you get the same error if you backup to a Linux system?

yes, tried many systems, it simply goes to time-out after like 2 domains being backed up.. It is definitely not the FTP server. Does backup alright locally... Clueless.....

Is there perhaps a firewall on your system that is blocking outgoing ftp connections?

nothing is blocking it, it would not "die" after some domains being uploaded if it was firewall, it wouldn't upload period

Any chance we could login to your system and see what is going wrong here?

sure, Jamie, how do i do it pvt?
