Virtualmin purchase

Just purchased a 10-50 Virtualmin license for $50. When I view my account's software licenses at https://www.virtualmin.com/user/5762/software_license I see the purchase was not applied to either of my two previous licenses. I`m expecting the following license number to be valid into next year 2016 :: HVN7027Q5XE

Thanks,

Howdy -- it looks like you purchased a Virtualmin upgrade, which upgrades a Virtualmin 10 into a Virtualmin 50.

I suspect it's a Virtualmin 50 renewal that you were looking for, which renews the product for a year.

The renewal costs $65, which is $15 more than the upgrade -- however, as a thanks to you for being a Virtualmin customer, I applied a one year renewal to your account.

Thanks for using Virtualmin!

Very generous thanks! Just checked the license and all is good. Thanks so much. One question-- when the license expires does it affect functionality? Reason I ask is this morning my http server was down. When logging into Webmin/Virtualmin I was prompted to update the license which expired in April 2014. So I took care of the license update and Virtualmin license check went okay. My http server is still down after a reboot and now I suppose Virtualmin was not the contributing factor. Does that sound right?

Thanks!

Kane

i mistyped 'April 2014' should have been this year 2015

Virtualmin does not lose any functionality when it expires. The only thing that happens is that it won't be possible to obtain new updates.

We'd never want your server to be offline.

It sounds like some other problem may have occurred, though I'm not sure what. It's possible that the Apache logs might indicate what happened, you can view those by looking in /var/log/httpd/error_log.

Two other potential sources of information are /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure.

Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions!
