Users' administration

This might be a stupid question but I installed virtualmin and created a domain. The problem that I have is that I do not understand how user will login to administer the website. Should it be something like http://www.domainname.com/admin or what? I can find documentation on how to create domains but how to manage it from the users' side?

Thank you.

Hey Igor,

Administration (at any level: domain owner, mailbox admin, reseller, system admin) is always performed through Webmin, which can be contacted on any domain name on the system (including the domain you just created) on port 10000:

https://www.domainname.com:10000

If you wanted, you could add a page containing an HTML redirect under any path you like, or you can add a Redirect rule to the Apache configuration template for new domains--so your example could quite easily be made to work, if you felt that would be easier for your customers to remember.

Mailbox/DAV/SVN users can connect via Usermin which listens on port 20000:

https://www.domainname.com:20000

Because it is secured using SSL, you may want to direct them to your own domain, and use verifiable certificate, so they don't receive a security warning about an unverifiable certificate. (Users are generally used to this kind of warning, however, and most website administrators will understand why they're getting it...I think.)
