Resolution of virtual host

I have F.Core 4 with webmin + wirtualmin. Almost all seems really sweet.

Issue #1 : Create new virtual host and can not loginto postgresql databases. Server is running etc

Issue #2 : Apache nolonger picks up index.html created in doc root. For main domain or either subdomain

If I enter demo.mydomain.cx/index.htm it is found ok

Altogether this is a really neat piece of work. Have looked at a few setups and this seems most convenient.

One thing I would like to do is let the user add /edit their own subdomains etc through usermin and connot see how to do it.

thanks very much

Richard

ok somehow the DirectoryIndex setting in httpd.conf was cleared. put back the settings for index.htm index.html index.php and it is now pulling up the websites as intended. Most impressive.

The webpages are just one line text entries but webmin+virtualmin make it just so easy to setup the entries.

Problems Remaining
==================

1) Postgresql - virtualmin is not integrating properly and the user is not getting added to postgresql. Seems a definite bug or oversight. I have downloaded the latest GPL version for testing.

2) How to get users to maintain their own domains. Add sub domains etc Do I add virtualmin to usermin? Are their accounts then limited?

Ok talking to myself! Still one item is cleared up and I will fill in the details incase it helps someone else.

Sysadmin uses http://hostingprovider.com:10000 to create the virtual host "their_domain.com"

Customer with "their_domain.com" then uses http://their_domain.com:10000 as their control panel.

Customer's staff then access usermin through http://their_domain.com:20000 for webmail.

Obvious, just did not see it.

Todays question ...

I can access the domain as http://www.hostingprovider.com
or http://hostingprovider.com

however I cannot access webmin as http:/www.host... only as http://host...

any ideas?

For penguindrycleaners.com : Changing DNS domain name ..
.. BIND DNS domain failed! : Cannot write to directory at ../web-lib-funcs.pl line 825.

For penguindrycleaners.com : Removing from email domains list ..
.. Mail for domain failed! : Cannot write to directory at ../web-lib-funcs.pl line 825.

server is now DOWN! Crashed!
