Problem with sasld

I am trying to setup my server to allow some remote users to authentication username and password and all those users to relay. My server is acting weird with the authentication. It will allow the virtualserver users authenticate but not the users under the virtual server. i.e. Domain = example.com Virtual Server User = example User=test@example.com

The virtual server user example can enter in his user and password and get the SMTP server to authenticate while user test@example.com can not authenticate.

I am using sendmail. I am read many manuals and cannot find out the problem. If I need to post anything let me know.

Hi Pete,
I am also having the same problem, trying to solve it for weeks. This happened when I migrated from RH9 to Fedora Core 5. I did not have this when using Virtualmin on RH9. I would suspect the issue to be coming from SASL version. RH9 is using SASL and Fedora is using SASLv2. When I checked the mail log it reported to be having
"did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA" Do you have any soultion on this issue yet? Thanks.
