Postfix and Mailbox's

Hi Guys

I'm trying to setup Postfix on our new server, but its refusing to play ball ;)

It will deliver mail to the virtual servers root account myDomain@myDomain.com, but it rejects mail for sub accounts such as user1@myDomain.com.

The error it returns is

Mar 12 22:55:52 db1 postfix/smtpd[[10103]]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from web5.hosting.co.uk[[213.230.203.68]]: 550 [[testing@dc.ourserver.co.uk/: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=[[kelvin@myDomain.com]] to=[[testing@dc.ourserver.co.uk]] proto=ESMTP helo=[[web5.hosting.co.uk]]

If I stop Postfix and start Sendmail then everything delivers perfectly, its obviously a config problem and it looks as if the email account details were not added to the "local recipients table" which I presumed virtualmin would do (does Virtualmin write these details to file, if so where do i find the details for this to make sure they match).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot Kelvin

Hi Guys

I've got mail now being delivered to the inbox of testing@dc, but I had to manually configure the Virtual Domains setting in the Postfix module and add the email address manually.

Is there anyway of avoiding this? once I create a user in Virtualmin it needs to automatically be recognised by Postfix (sendmail had no problems, so why is postfix being so much more difficult?)

Post the output of postconf here and I'll see what I can do. I've just had a huge battle with postfix myself (see thread at https://www.virtualmin.com/forums/message-view?message%5fid=96638

Hi Kevin

Any advice would be welcome, I'm to wondering if virtualmin is detecting Postfix or just not updating the correct files.

To save poluting the post, I've pasted the output to here

Cheers
