TO ALL Virtualmin ADMINS I NEED YOU! Please Help

Hello, I currently have webmin installed on my dedicated server. I am very happy using it but now I need a control panel like virtualmin which will do all the job, like email management domain management I have checked your demo and I really liked compare it to webmin since sometimes webmin is very confusing I need virtualmin for my new projects.

I need you do install virtualmin for me, I really want to buy the license but I am out of my budget seriosly my budget is dead.

If some of you admins think he can install the virtualmin on my server without no downtime and no extra cost than license I will be buying your 10 domain name license. And that would be very very great if you can give me a little bit discount as I will be only using not more than 4 5 domain names

I currenly have webmin installed and nothing else with just one domain name.

Please virtualmin admins do that favor for me 1st you might not even going to spend your 30 mins on my server 2nd you will earn one loyal customer just by installing virtualmin on my server.

thank you<br><br>Post edited by: FRP, at: 2009/01/20 17:05

Howdy FRP,

Virtualmin, Inc. does not provide any contract services. We do have a Jobs forum where you can list projects, but...it's a Jobs forum, so you should expect to pay for folks time.

Since budget is a concern for you, perhaps Virtualmin GPL is a better fit for you right now. It's free, and provides approximately 80% of the functionality of Virtualmin Professional (the big missing features are Install Scripts, complete API, WYSIWYG website editor, and a few other bits and pieces).

We are always happy to answer questions here in the forums, and it costs nothing to ask for help...but, we're not going to do it for you.

Your first step is probably to install the Virtualmin GPL module and configure it to match your system. Merely installing the module (note: DO NOT RUN install.sh on a production system!) will alter nothing and can probably import your virtual servers without much hassle.

I assume you have good backups. And if you don't, start keeping good backups immediately.

Joe, thank you so much for your reply as that help me out alot.

When I will start installing Virtualmin will that replace my older files like php apache configs? and delete my (var www) folder? or that will just going to install as a module for my webmin panel? thank you so much for your time I really appreciated.

The install.sh script makes config changes that could affect things that are currently running (notably, email, though quite possibly others too).

Ideally, you'd want to install Virtualmin onto a freshly installed system with nothing live on it at the moment -- and from there, add in the various domains and accounts you'd like to use.

In the meantime though, just to get an idea of what Virtualmin can do, installing just the Virtualmin module (and not using the installer, install.sh) would be a great way to see some of what Virtualmin can do.

Installing the Virtualmin module by itself won't make any changes to any of your configs.

Hello and thank you for your quick answer, I just want to know one thing:

since I cant reformat my dedicated server and I can't have downtime. Plus I am currently using webmin on it so is there any way I can install virtualmin on it without disturbing anything?

I need virtualmin because I am having really hard time managing my domain name with webmin. I don't have no email stuff on it just apache php dns installed as extra addons for webmin

I want to know if I can install virtualmin without downtime and bother my other settings?

Right, so, that's the benefit of the &quot;Virtualmin Module&quot; we've been mentioning :-)

If you go here:

http://webmin.com/vdownload.html

You'll see a link for the Virtualmin module in Webmin format, as well as a link for the framed theme.

If you use those, and *not* the install.sh script, it won't touch any settings on your server.

There will be more effort in getting it working, as you'll have to tell it about your setup (a process usually handled by the automated install script) -- but, it can certainly work. And in your case, it will allow you to move forward without affecting any of the domains/email that are already on your live server.

Make sure you've installed the framed theme mentioned above.

If you have, change your Webmin theme to use that.

It'll look much nicer, and all the tools you want to use will be much more apparent :-)

You might have luck using these docs to get Virtualmin setup and running. The entire page will be helpful, but the link here will take you right to the Postfix section:
