[SOLVED] Some domains not working

Hi again... seems not installing Virtualmin through install.sh isn't the best of choices (maybe the .deb should be improved? :))

I'm having a problem with 3 domains (2 domains and 1 alias), in a server with several domains.

I'm making this topic private because I'm going to name the domains here and I don't want people to try and abuse the server, sorry...

The domains in question are:

profissionaltrans.com statusabsolut.com statusabsolute.com (alias of statusabsolut.com)

Neither of these ping.

All have nameservers properly set, you can check other domains working perfectly:

imancash.com energy4all.pt alltransportes.com

I did the same procedure for all domains in the server (about 17), so I don't get the problem with these.

Bind seems fine, I couldn't find anything wrong in the logs...

Debian 5 here, any suggestions?

Pinging the domains from inside the server works...

SOLVED:: Seems it wasn't really virtualmin related, but it should check for these types of cases :)

Indeed ;-)

If you have any suggestions on how to clarify what the best installation manner is, please let us know... however, so far as I can tell, the docs and links available on the site here go pretty far to recommend using the install.sh :-)

But, that may only be part of the issue -- some of the things you're running into can't be handled by the installer.

I did the same procedure for all domains in the server (about 17), so I don't get the problem with these.

After looking into the DNS for those domains, I'm guessing which ones work and not may just be intermittent :-)

You can use websites such as intodns.com to check your DNS settings.

Plugging some of your domains into it, it looks like one of your nameservers may not be working.

That seems to be a big part of the issue -- r25074.ovh.net doesn't respond to any queries I do.

However, I'd recommend putting all your domains into it, and resolving any errors it reports.

So it seems it had to do with bind ip listen configuration. I hoped virtualmin could've set that up fine :D

You can mark this as solved.
