[SOLVED] Backup with ssh destination hangs

Hi there,

I'm having a problem with the virtualmin backup module. Whenever I select ssh as backup destination the backup job hangs. When I select ftp everything goes through in a couple of minutes.

I've tried tracing the processes spawned by /usr/local/lib/webmin/virtual-server/backup.cgi but output stays empty.

The virtualmin 4.16 installation is hosted on FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASEp16.

Does anyone know what's going wrong here? I'd really want my backups to be transferred with scp instead of plain ftp.

I still haven't gotten it to work. I could triage this problem by making a kerberized nfs4 share or sshfs but I really don't want to go that route. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have "solved" the problem by setting up openvpn to the backup machine. Scheduled backups are now running using ftp over openvpn.
