Probably the thing that everyone complains about: Webmin 1.800 update gone wrong

The interface can't be accessed anymore, the loader just spins after the last (today) update. And I get this email:

Can't locate auto/Net/SSLeay/set_tlsext_.al in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/libexec/webmin /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 . ..) at ../web-lib-funcs.pl line 7350

[root@ns1 ~]# rpm -q webmin

PS: I also get the same error as the others in the browser:

On another thread it was said to use cpan to install Net-SSLeay. I already have it installed.

perl-Crypt-SSLeay.x86_64 0.57-17.el6 @anaconda-CentOS-201508042137.x86_64/6.7
perl-Net-SSLeay.x86_64 1.35-10.el6 @base

Trying to use cpan to upgrade fails.

Are you by chance able to access Webmin, in order to change the theme? Or is that error preventing you from accessing it?

Some of the folks who were seeing that issue were seeing it just on specific screens... it almost sounds like you're describing something that's making it unavailable altogether though.

After the upgrade as I told you I wasn't able to access anything; half an hour later, a restart, emptied the caches etc I was able to navigate using the left menu, and the message #2 was on the landing page - users already called me saying they are seeing the same thing in Virtualmin. I didn't change the theme though, it's still Authentic. Usermin seems OK.

Worst thing is: it displayed the same error when creating a new domain, specifically when contacting my second DNS server; so it failed to create the zone there. BTW, that Webmin was NOT upgraded if it helps.

Later edit: I have also a big Centos update, not applied yet - don't want to mess the things further, I'd rather wait for a patch. The monitor.pl is also not running as per #1.

Well, the most important thing here is to upgrade Webmin. There is a serious security issue fixed by Webmin 1.80.

However, what you may want to try temporarily is to switch to the Virtualmin Framed theme, to see if that helps. But we're looking into the cause.

OK so I updated Webmin on the other server, went smoothly, but first I tried to update Authentic. Also it is a Centos 7 machine and not 6.

A 1.801 version will be out in a few hours to fix this.
