MariaDB 10.3 official impementation ?

Hi, just curious if it is planned for Virtualmin to support officially MariaDB 10.3 anytime soon?

Some enthusiasts have manually migrated their DB and for some of them it works fine. I've tried too, and although the upgrade was successful and MariaDB 10.3 working, but I found some inconsistencies, which indicate that Virtualmin is not fully compatible with MariaDB 10.3. So, for production it is best to use the officially supported 5.5 which is very outdated now.

Would love to learn, if such official support is planned anytime soon?

Thank you, Virtualmin is a very stable and very nice platform, I love it.

I've installed the latest MariaDB (version 10.4.10) on a CentOS 7 server without any hiccups. I followed this guide here: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/upgrading-from-mariadb-55-to-mariadb-100/

Good for you, but I have an existing VPS, built with CentOS 7 + Virtualmin (with the default DB MariaDB 5.5) and upgraded to 10.3 Unfortunately, after the upgrade Virtualmin cannot read my custom modifications to the configuration from the DB. I have a WordPress website and it works fine after the upgrade, but the Virtualmin itself is not well. It doesn't "remember" my modifications to the firewall, to the email (my email aliases are no longer available) and as a result my mail system doesn't work at all.

It looks like Virtualmin is unable to read data (or at least some of it) from a MariaDB 10.3 DB

I'm in the process of setting up a new server for my sites so about a week ago I got a new server and started the setup on CentOS 7.7. Ofc I updated MariaDB to 10.3 and it works fine. Your problem sounds like a permissions problem though. Take a look at read/write permissions on the config files especially if you did your setup using root account. ;)

Yes, I am also very concerned about this issue. I would really like to know the answer from the developers.
