if you have created a mailbox like info@joomlaplazza.com then that box has a password for incoming mail. But for outgoing mail you would use the main password of Joomlaplazza.com (Administration password). Thus you would have two different passwords for each newly created mailbox on a domain.

In the Virtualmin - System Settings - Features and plugins module you would first have to enable the checkbox to make proftp default (currently it is not).

Then enable it for your domain under Virtualmin - Administration Options - Edit Owner Limits - Allowed capabilities and features - Allowed features for servers - Enable ProFTPd virtual FTP

its the default mailbox for the virtual server Im trying to use with the admin password. Is there anyway to change the administration username and password for a virtual server short of deleting the virtual server and recreating it?

Attempting to setup the FTP now.

it depends how you are sending mail. for instance using Outlook Express (ahum) it's not that simple I believe. It needs some special configuration somewhere as with most of MS software.

Did you try using Usermin? Are you sure credentials are okay (copy&paste may have a space at the end) There shouldn't be a need to recreate the domain. Just to fix it so you know what went wrong and how to prevent it next time.

oh another possibility is that your ISP at home is blocking port 25, then you would have to use the mailserver of your ISP for outgoing mail. Or use usermin.

Its thunderbird I use. Didn't even no usermin was installed!

I noticed that ProFTPd FTP Server is not running under system settings and if i try to enable it the following error is given :

Starting ftp server proftpd - warning: unable to determine IP address of 'ns1.flirtsnflings.com_' - error: no valid servers configured - Fatal: error processing configuration file '/etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf' ...fail!

Which probably explains my ftp troubles.....................

Yeah I noticed that error before but i had no access to the module. You can add the module to "my" account and Ill have a look. Ill test the email too on joomlaplazza

okay the ssl certificate is normal as it is self-signed. You'd have to except the certificate.

I have send and received an email through joomlaplazza in Usermin. This all went okay which leads me to believe your ISP is blocking port 25. Not much you can do there.

FTP is not working yet. I couldn't sudo over ssh and I would like to look in the webmins module Users&Groups

na my isp isn't blocking port 25 i use it on other mail accounts... ill try to fix this later

but I didn't have option to even accept the certificate because it says it was longer than it was allowed to be.

so you want me to enable module Users&Groups on the temp account?

as for mail.. it's definitely working, so then you have to check thunderbird again. Per haps it is the TLS settings which is enabled on your server!

As for the ssl certificate, I could import it and log in, so this must be a browser setting on your side. I use FF 3.

I think you want to start a new thread for the FTP stuff. I'm not a master with FTP and you have a Debian system which I'm not sure have the same settings as Centos.

I'll log out now and go for some shopping..

I didn't find crazy stuff in that module either.

Just that FTP is not running as nobody, but that may not be necessary. Best start a new thread and let Joe or Eric come up with some advice. It may have to do with the _ at the end of the hostname in the proftp.conf somewhere
