Add 2nd IP for SSL certs

OK, I have my cert sorted out, but, before I create it, I think I should move the VS over to my new, 2nd, IP address.

The question is, how?

I have managed to somehow get it on VM by going to Addresses and Networking Shared address - add new IP Change IP Address - move VS to new IP

However, now, if I enter the URL, I get a 'splash' page from another site on the (1st IP) server. If I go to the IP address, direct, I get the site, however, distorted, with a 404 error.

Have I added the new IP address and assigned the website correctly?

EDIT: note: pinging the url returns the original IP address

You would generally add an IP address that's for use on one Virtual Server by going into Edit Virtual Server -> IP address and interfaces, and add the IP address into the "Virtual interface" field.

Eric,

I reversed out my earlier change and did as you said but got the same result!

BTW, I want to be able to put several VS's onto the new IP address, as I am using a multidomain SSL cert

did you wait a bit for propagation? As you are on a new IP also the world need to know about this.

you did create a domain on that IP and made it ssl ready, port 443? Configs looks okay? Dns, Apache?

Hi Ronald,

I didnt leave it too long to propogate, but will now!

Why would it (initially) go to a domain which is also on the server, but on the original?

As for DNS & Apache, I have no idea if they are correct, as I assume that VN updates everything automatically!

Why would it (initially) go to a domain which is also on the server, but on the original? my best guess would be propagation. Old IP is in the cache of the dns servers, that needs to be recycled first. After that is done and it still fails, I'd look into other things..
