Unable to Import Databases to Virtual Server

If, when creating servers you do not create any databases, administrators are subsequently unable to associate an sql database created outside of virtualmin because the "Edit Database" menu option is not available. The menu link only appears when you already have at least one database associated.

Using Virtualmin 3.78.gpl

All you should need to go is to to Edit VIrtual Server -> Enabled features, and check the "MySQL login enabled?" box. This will create the MySQL account and possibly an initial DB, and you will then be able to import databases.

Hi,

I guessed that that would work - the trouble is that it creates accounts and databases that I don't need and would then have to remove. So as a work-around it's ok but my feeling is that the interface is slightly counter-intuitive in my particular circumstance. Which is why a put it in as a UI issue. My setup uses a single mysql account across different sites.

Anyway thanks for your quick response and the fabulous software.

One thing you can do is prevent Virtualmin from creating an initial DB for a domain when the MySQL feature is enabled. This can be done at System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default Settings -> MySQL database -> Create database as well as login? (select "No").
