Apaches appears to crash every Sunday and won't restart from Webmin

Apache crashes every Sunday between 10:15 and 12:15. It then will not enable me to use the action button to restart the service. I have to ssh in and reboot the whole thing.

I check the apache error logs the errors don't match the previous week nor do they display anything near the crash or anything that seems related.

I have also checked the scheduled cron jobs and although there are some that run exclusively on Sundays, all of them run at 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning.

There is a backup that runs on Sunday nights at 4 am that I am wondering has something to do with it.

Howdy -- well, it's difficult to say at what might cause Apache to crash. I suspect there's some sort of trigger, the trick would just be determining what that is.

There's a forum post here about a few folks who have experienced problems with log rotation:

Now, that should happen later in the day though. Can you verify that your system time is correct? If the clock wandered a bit, it's possible cron jobs are firing early.

Also, you may want to look in /var/log/messages to see if anything in there coincides with when Apache breaks.
