I created several virtual servers in virtualmin. None of them are supposed to resolve to the https version. when a user uses https they are warned of the lack of a certificate but if they choose to continue they are taken to an ssl version of the site. how do i stop this?

You can't , unless they are put on a separate IP address. For which Apache isn't listening on port 443.
Or you could turn off port 443 in Apache completely, if you never plan to use SSL for any domains?
