Adding a second IP number and certificate

Hi People,

I have a need to add a SSL cert to one of the sites I am hosting.

So, I took a look around and tried to follow the Step by Step Tutorials "How to add an SSL certificate" (https://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/tutorial/how-to-add-an-ssl-cert...) and failed miserably.

I have a second IP number supplied and I assumed that it would be added in step 5 of the tutorial but step 4 says "Click the radio button next to Virtual interface labeled Create now with IP" but I can't find that.

Does the IP number have to be added somewhere else before this option becomes available or am I missing somethng?

Please feel free to tell me I am being dumb, I am accustomed to it. :)

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Tim

Operating system CentOS Linux 5.5, Webmin version 1.520 , Virtualmin version 3.81 Pro

I think the function that the tutorial refers to is the one that has been moved to a different location with the VMin update 3.81. Changing IP addresses is now done under "Server Configuration / Change IP address".

So, no, you are not dumb (if at all, then you didn't read through the release notes of the 3.81 version ;) ), but the tutorial is not yet up-to-date.

I just tried it. You can enter the desired new IP address in the "Use private IP address" field. If it belongs to a virtual eth that is already created (e.g. using the Networking Webmin module), you need to check "Already active".

If you leave that unchecked, VMin will auto-create the virtual eth for you (and auto-delete it when you change the IP address back later).

Brilliant !

Many thanks Locutus, that worked a treat, and so easy. Thanks also to VM for making it so easy.

Now to get the cert under way. :)
