SVN User password creation

Virtualmin GPL

After creating a virtual server and a blank repo, I have added 2 users with the same password as the server owner and granted RW access to the repo.

Access to the repo using the server owners user/pass works fine, but when trying to access using one of the additional accounts I am unable to authenticate.

Some investigation of the file /home/domain/etc/svn.basic.passwd show that all 3 users are listed but the password strings for the new users are a lot shorter that the domain owners passwords. (The usernames are also not in the same format as the FTP/POP login passwords but that makes sense).

As a temporary fix I have simply copied the owner password string in to the user passwords which appears tho work ok and allows me to maintain some kind of accountability for the repo users!.

Many thanks

This is a known bug in the SVN feature - someone else reported it just a few days ago as well :-(

The next release will fix it, but until then the work-around is to change the user's password to something different, then change it back again.
