Cloudmin 5.5 released

Cloudmin version 5.5 is now available for download from our YUM and APT repositories. Existing users should see a message on the Cloudmin Information page after logging in, prompting to upgrade to the new release.

This update contains several new features, including :

  • The new auto-scaling groups feature allows virtual systems to be created and destroyed in response to CPU load or other factors. This can be used to scale up a service like a website or replicated database to handle higher traffic, by cloning and configuring new virtual systems automatically.
  • When cloning a Xen, KVM, OpenVZ or LXC virtual system, you can now select another host system for the clone to be created on, instead of the source system's host.
  • EC2 accounts can now have DNS zones associated with them, to which records will be added for new EC2 instances instead of using the EC2-generated hostname for new systems.

It also fixes several minor bugs found since the last release. As always, please report any problems you find in this new version via the issue tracker.
