Trying to install joomla getting blank page [SOLVED]

Hi there

Im new to Virtualmin. I've gone through the installation process and created a domain. I can view html pages as well as php pages. but the moment i upload joomla installation packages and go to the install page. i simply get a blank page with no errors. just a blank page everytime. The joomla install package does work on other servers (tested).

Howdy,

What error(s) do you see in the Apache error logs for that domain -- those are located in $HOME/logs/error_log.

Hi there andreychek

Thanks for the speedy reply.

this log isnt 100% accurate as these errors where encountered with basic html and php files i put in to test before i tried the joomla installs. Im not 100% on the time zone problem though.

if i remove all public_html files and load a different joomla install package, it does the same thing and doesnt not log any errors.

ok ive managed to get it installed.

ive got some new problems though. when the site loads, all it displays is the date and nothing else. when you go to the admin login that page displays with an error: JFolder::create: Could not create directory

Howdy,

That DOMDocument error you're getting may be because it wants the PHP XML module.

The package that's included in differs depending on your distro, but it's typically called either php-xml or php5-xml.

Try installing that and see if it resolves your Joomla issues.
