Updates failed

Hi,

I can't update the latest Webmin (1.590) and Usermin (1.510) from my Debian 5 server. I get the following message :

Installing package(s) with command apt-get -y install webmin .. Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information... The following packages will be upgraded: webmin 1 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded. Need to get 18.2MB of archives. After this operation, 1430kB of additional disk space will be used. WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated! webmin E: There are problems and -y was used without --force-yes .. install failed!

The same update went fine on a Debian 6 server.

Howdy -- unfortunately, the Debian 5 distribution reached it's end of life back in February. The errors/warnings you're seeing are related to Debian 5 no longer being supported.

Shortly after it reaches it's end of life, the Debian 5 packages are removed from the Debian servers.

When you run apt-get in order to install packages, the Debian servers are returning an error since the repositories your server is configured to use no longer exist.

Ideally, you'd want to upgrade your server to a newer distro, perhaps Debian 6.

In the meantime -- since no new packages are being released, you could always comment out the Debian related mirrors in /etc/apt/sources.list, which would allow you to install a Webmin update.
