[SOLVED] Access Virtualmin through new domain name

Hi Virtualmin community! Is it possible to do this procedure?

Edit

If I install Virtualmin in a server and I define a domain name to it through install process, but after the installation, the domain name is not pointing to the server anymore (for whatever reason).

Is it possible to access the server through IP and change to (or add) a new domain name, so I can access the control panel again via this new domain name?

Hi,

You lost me somewhere in there, but here's something that IS possible, perhaps it'll answer your question, or at least part of it.

=== SERVER A ===

You setup the server with all the configurations, domains, etc that you want...

You create a Virtualmin-level backup including "Virtualmin Configurations", and "Domain Data".

=== SERVER B ===

You setup the server with a base install of the OS and Virtualmin.

You can restore either "Virtualmin Configurations", "Domain Data", or both.

This is a project for automating the creation of servers.

Our software will create new servers automatically. There will be no manual installations.

The idea is to create new servers and programmatically change the Virtualmin's "main domain" in the new server via IP in the first access

I know that is possible to access Virtualmin using IP address, but after adding a new domain name to Virtualmin, can I access the control panel through this new domain?

Sure, you can access the control panel through any domain name who's IP address resolves to your server.

Ok, thank you very much!

We are very happy to use Virtualmin for the instances in our cloud project.
