moving ssl site with private IP fails

If you are using the mod_gnutls which allows 1 IP to service more then 1 SSL the move fails saying you can't because it cause a conflict however this isn't true. Cloudmin should check to see if mod_gnutls is installed and allow the move.

What is the exact error mesage you are getting? Cloudmin just uses the Virtualmin backup / restore functions, so should allow multiple sites on the same IP (assuming that the target Virtualmin system allows this).

Different domain but the same error:

Error: The selected domains cannot be moved : Domain eh7design.co.uk has a private IP address 178.63.40.101, but you have not chosen to delete it from the source system when moving. This would cause an IP address conflict.

Ok, the issue here isn't that two sites share the same IP - it is that if you do a move of a domain with a private IP and don't choose the option to delete the domain from the source system, you will end up with two machines with the same private IP active.

A work-around is to switch the domain to using a shared IP on the source system, do the move, then switch it to the correct private or shared IP on the destination.

So disabling the server isn't enough ? hmmm ok

No, the IP is still active even when the domain is disabled.

That causes a little issue then when migrating from one server to a new one. You certainly don't want to delete a domain especially when its the primary one longer then needed.

When you disable the domain is already disables the dns on the primary and deletes it from the slaves, that shouldn't be a issue.

Can you add a bypass box for this ?

I'll look into this - what I'd have to do is make it so that when a domain is disabled, the private IP gets taken down as well. Otherwise having two systems on the same LAN with the same IP active will cause havoc.

Normally when you use Cloudmin to move domains its when moving to a whole new network which wouldn't be on the same LAN, at least that's the case with me 99% of the time. Even if you are using the same server hosting company you always get a new network block because the majority do not allow porting any old IP's. Any conflicts are extremely rare.
