Chroot in virtualmin

Hi all,

Please let me know how can I configure chroot in virtualmin environment ? While Googling, came across this site : http://blog.thewebsitepeople.org/2012/10/virtualmin-sftp-chroot/

I would like to know your suggestions before implementing the same.

Thanks, Gopu

Can't reply in detail at the moment; I'd suggest to use the forum search for now, this topic has been dealt with numerous times here. :)

I can tell you already that a sftp jail using OpenSSH configuration is not working. Virtualmin backup will fail. Solution: none.

This is a really old thread, don't make zombies! None of it is relevant anymore, as chroot jails for both ssh and FTP over SSH is supported right out of the box...you don't need to configure SSH jails, you just need to turn them on (this uses Jailkit, configurable in the UI, though most folks don't need to do much with the configuration...some folks may need to add other binaries to the jail). And, FTP over SSH is always available on port 2222 (this use ProFTPd jail features and doesn't need configuration).
