Support for SCL 1.1 and Apache 2.4

Are there any plans to support the new Software Collections from Redhat and thus allow for new versions of software on the 6.x versions line of RHEL?

I have a new server that I'm building that has no software on it yet and I need Apache 2.4 for a bug fix and I'm using OL 6.5 as the base. I can install the SCL 1.1 and get apache 2.4 but not sure how Virtualmin will integrate into that software. I see you have fixed some bugs in webmin for Apache 2.4 but haven't seen any docs on how to make Apache 2.4 work for Virutalmin.

Advice? Thoughts?

thanks

Howdy,

Some newer distributions, such as Ubuntu 14.04, come with Apache 2.4.

Virtualmin does support Apache 2.4.

When interacting with the system, Virtualmin detects the Apache version, and uses the correct syntax when making changes to the Apache config.

That said, we haven't done any testing with Apache from the SCL repository.

We have, however, tested PHP from there, and that is known to work well alongside the default RHEL/CentOS PHP version. There are details on setting up a second PHP version from the SCL repo here:
