Failed to delete a user

The server setup is:

centos 6.6 64bit plesk 12 qmail mailserver

When i try to delete a user via the users and groups module i get this error:

Failed to delete user : Failed to query Postfix config command to get the current value of parameter home_mailbox:

Somehow the module thinks postfix is installed, but it isnt.

The installation order of the server was:

  • install centos from dvd (this installs postfix)
  • install webmin
  • delete postfix
  • install plesk (with qmail)

webmin and postfix have been on the server together, but only for a very brief period.

If i disable "delete user in other modules" it does work.

Howdy -- we've been discussing the issue you're seeing, and wanted to clarify a couple of things. It sounds like you're just using Webmin, but we wanted to make sure -- is it only Webmin you have there, or is Virtualmin installed as well?

Also, in Webmin, you're using System -> Users and Groups in order to delete the user in question?

Hello,

yes, only webmin, no virtualmin installed.

and yes, system --> users and groups.

Try going to Servers -> Read User Mail -> Module Config, and set the mail server to Qmail or whatever mail server you are using.

This worked. I cant actualy read the mail because it are virtual users but i can delete users now, thank you.
