can't install cloudmin

Hi

I have been trying for a while now to install cloudmin on Fedora 21 with no success. It is missing some dependancies which I have searched around for and installed but then just get an error saying they are installed already and indeed duplicated so essentially back to square one.

Here is the entire output when I run the install. Really appreciate some help

[root@xenserver1 ~]# ./cloudmin-gpl-redhat-install.sh

  • Welcome to the Cloudmin GPL for Xen installer, version 1.1 *

Operating systems supported by this installer are:

Fedora Core 3-12 on i386 and x86_64 CentOS and RHEL 3-5 on i386 and x86_64

If your OS is not listed above, this script will fail (and attempting to run it on an unsupported OS is not recommended, or...supported). Continue? (y/n) y

Hi,

SInce you're using a RedHat variant OS, have you tried installing Cloudmin GPL for KVM? The KVM technology is the alternative to Xen, and should be better supported by Fedora as RedHat contributes to the project and has included it in distros it controls for a few years now.

Thank you. I have tried that and it has worked so great suggestion. I am using open source Xen so i thought I needed the other version.

Since it has been installed, there does not seem to be any options. Just has the servername which i can edit the details of but nothing else?

Is this correct?

Hi,

Since RedHat go in bed with KVM development, they sort of discontinued mainstream support for it within their OS's. KVM is a pretty good visualization technology which works similar to Xen, yet differently under the hood. Many providers including myself make use of KVM and have had great success with it.

That doesn't mean you can't use Xen, but you will find a bit more difficult to get reliable support from the RedHat based community as RedHat pretty much discontinued support for it in favor of KVM.

Thanks Peter.

The issue is that we want to migrate some VM's from a current XEN environment so I want to keep them the same as much as I can to increase the chances of success of the import.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this error before. It may be related to EFI whatever that is...?

error 13 invalid or unsupported executable format

Get this when trying to boot into my Xen kernel.

Howdy,

I haven't run into that previously. Which distro/version are you using? And does this problem only occur when booting this one particular kernel, are you able to boot other kernels?

Hi

I am using Scientific Linux ver 6.6. Yes, I can boot into the other kernel but not the xen one. That said, I am able to run both a windows and Linux VMs. Does this mean everything is ok?

Thanks
