[Resolved] Website aliases and redirects

Update: Must have been some DNS caching something or other, as the problem resolved itself later in the day

I have changed the Default Server Template here:

System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default -> Apache Website -> Create alias websites by -> "Creating permanent Redirect virtual host"

It works great, passing through all my locations from the one domain to the other! Except that for some reason, the desired target domain is always prefixed by "www." I would much prefer the domain my visitors end up at not to be prefixed by www (I never use the www subdomain though of course it's nice it works in case someone happens to type www. before my domain name). I am not using the www. prefix myself during testing, I am typing my test domain "example-olddomain" and ending up at "www.example-newdomain"

Is there a way to change the permanent redirect such that the www. is not added during redirection?

Thanks :)
