/etc/awstats/awstats.model.conf does not exist

Go to

Virtualmin -> System Settings -> Features and Plugins

1) Disable any option but not AWstats. I unchecked Virus filtering.

2) Click on Save button.

You will get the following error message:

Failed to save enabled features : The plugin AWstats reporting cannot be used : The template AWstats configuration file /etc/awstats/awstats.model.conf does not exist.

As you can see you cannot change Featurs and Plugins without fixing this issue.

What do you suggest as fast solution before you fix it into the next update? Copying in /etc/awstats file awstats.conf.local to awstats.model.conf?

Please note I want to do this change without having any Virtual Server created yet.

Digging into this issue, using awstats.conf.local as awstats.model.conf it is not a good idea because the file is empty for doing settings.

I just copied /usr/share/doc/awstats/examples/awstats.model.conf.gz into /etc/awstats. I gunzip it and now there is a file named awstats.mode.conf with all settings inside.

This should be a step when we install Virtualmin package.

Very strange in other old version of Virtualmin, without changing anything, /etc/awstats folder has awstats.conf file inside. Enabling or disabling AWstats in Feature Plans this configuration doesn't provide any error.

Hmm, I don't seem to reproduce that issue.

It looks for both awstats.conf and awstats.model.conf in /etc/awstats/, and if neither exists, it will throw an error.

However, one of those two should exist when the awstats package is installed from Debian.

Just to verify, what is the output of this command:

dpkg -l awstats

In that installation there is no awstats.conf. Pretty strange. It is a minor issue, I can copy the file or extract one for awstats.model.conf.
