License Plans

Hello,

I have been using your fine product for about five years. I host a couple commercial sites and several hobby sites. I also install Virtualmin on a mirror site for failover purposes. I do not really need your pro features for my small time operation. I would not mind the price of your 10 domain account, but alas, I have 15 domains hosted and like to be able to play.

Why am I telling you this? Because I would like to support you. Since I need more than the smallest plan and can't justify the larger plan, I have no way of not being a freeloader. So, can I donate to you somehow? PayPal or something?

Let me know and thanks again for a great product.

Howdy,

Thanks for your interest in supporting us, we really appreciate that!

I'll offer a few ideas --

Yes, if you want to do Paypal, you can certainly do that.

But, there are some other options as well.

Joe is preparing to release a new website, which includes new license prices. The prices are going to be different, and the initial cost will be lower.

There will also be monthly prices, rather than yearly only.

Additionally, we are going to offer support options, where you can pay a little bit to use the premium support to handle issues that you run into.

So if you wanted, you can pay $50 or so (exact price is still being worked out), and be able to submit 3 premium support requests. So you could buy that when the new site comes out, and then use them as need arises.

The new site should be out pretty soon -- we hope within a few weeks. That will include all those new options.

How does that sound?

Hello Eric,

The new site and the new plans look great. Congratulations.

The $9 plan looks great and will allow me to support you guys. I might have one hitch though. I currently install Virtualmin on two servers. A production server and a mirrored server. The mirror only comes into play if there is a problem on the production server. It is used strictly for failover purposes. Would I be able to continue with this setup on one pro license?

I can do pro on one and gpl on the other but I fear it could be a headache to maintain. What are your thoughts on this? I hope I am not being a pain! I am perfectly satisfied with gpl but I want to support you Virtualmin.

Thanks again.

Thanks again for your interest in supporting us, that means a lot!

What you described above is no problem.

If both were live servers and actively serving requests, you'd need two licenses in that case -- but with one being a spare, that's no problem at all.

Feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks Eric. There seems to be a problem with the shopping cart. I can add the plan but that's as far as cart goes. No way to proceed with the transaction. I am not surprised by this as Joe's post stated there were cart issues. I'll check back later and complete the transaction.

Thanks, Eric. I will wait until you roll out the new options. One way or the other I will offer some kind of financial support. You guys do a great job.

Me too, the prices are fantastic, but fall short of the ultimate option of being able to share them among ( among? odd word ) multiple servers.

Hi all. Will the monthly plans auto-renew via credit card each month?

After purchasing the license, I cannot install virtualmin. Would you please take a look? Thanks!
